Steven Hodgson introduced The Football Academy project in 2005 , having been a professional footballer with Manchester City and Macclesfield Town as well as playing in the football conference with teams such as Chester City, nuneaton borough and Stafford Rangers.

At a young age Steven joined the elite of 16 top players in the country at Lilleshall School of Excellence , where he lived and played alongside footballers such as Joe Cole , Scott Parker and Shaun-Wright Phillips. He then progressed into the England School Boys and England Under 16's.

Having been at the top of the game from such a young age is something that stands The Football Academy in good stead.

Stevens knowledge from the players he has played with and the coaches he has worked for is what helps The Football Academy deliver such dynamic , progressive and informative sessions to help its children reach their full potential.

not to mention he is current 1st team coach at a league 2 club and also academy coach at stoke city fc

When The Football Academy started it ran with just a handful of schools in the South Manchester area. Having maintained its success and fantastic reputation the Academy decided to open its doors to a wider area.

Now the Academy runs football and sports courses for thousands of children each week in Macclesfield , Holmes Chapel , Congleton , Mid-Cheshire and beyond.

The Academy is now holding in and out of school clubs , as well as liasing with nurseries , primary schools , high schools , junior clubs and professional academies to bring a fantastic opportunity to local children.
